Ming Style Antique Armoire Cabinet (Rare Antique Chinese Ming Style Armoire Cabinet). Crafted in the early 1700's, this tall Ming-style Chinese antique armoire cabinet is a beauty, both in looks and in design. It is crafted of Chinese cedar, nanmu, a hard wood; making the cabinet very sturdy. The original bright cinnabar lacquer on the interior of the cabinet and the interior doors is still visible. Some of the ramie fabric lacquer undercoat is stile in tact. The dark black, almost purple, Zitan exterior finish is also original, and has recently been restored, revealing lots of character. Most of the hardware is also original to the cabinet. This rounded corners and molding along with the overhanging top, and splayed legs is classic Ming-style. The spacious interior has three storage areas and two drawers. The doors have wooden pin hinges and are separated by a removable center stile.
